TŘINEC WILL WELCOME INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION OF TECHNICAL INNOVATIONS AND PATENTS
On 12th and 13th of June, the WERK ARENA in Třinec will become the meeting place for the biggest technological innovations of domestic and foreign exhibitors. The competitive exhibition of inventions, innovations and trends in industry focused on sustainable production is organized by the Czech Metallurgical Company.
Exhibitors from a range of industrial fields, representatives of universities, representatives of industrial property protection, investors, bearers of new thoughts and ideas and the general public will gather in Třinec. Exhibitors can apply until the end of April.
"Innovation is the engine of business development, and the protection of intellectual property is an inherent part of it.By the exhibition, we want to recall once again the tradition of invention, which has a long tradition in the Czech Republic and has been somewhat forgotten in recent years. At the same time, the care of intellectual property should be an integral part of the daily functioning of every company," said Jiří Cupek, Chairman of the Czech Metallurgical Society (ČHS).
Intellectual property protection is an important tool for dealing with company assets, including intangible assets, which make up 85% of their total value. The leaders in the field of creating new intellectual property rights are Germany, France, Italy and the Netherlands. In the Czech Republic, 169 subjects granted a license for their patent, utility model or design in 2022. They earned a total of CZK 3.9 billion in license fees in a given year.
"International studies show that companies that effectively take care of their intellectual property are more successful in the long term and beneficial to their and the state's economic results. In the Czech Republic, they create more than a third of jobs and represent over half of the total economic activity. Invent Arena offers the opportunity to show the results of research and development, innovative solutions and the best technical facilities from several countries." said Jana Engelová Pavková, co-organizer the Industrial Property Office (ÚPV).
“International invention exhibitions like the Invent Arena are a current trend. Every year there are around 20 of them worldwide. At the exhibition, it is possible to present your innovations at a truly prestigious level." added Lukáš Zmeškal, Chairman of the Czech Association of Inventors and Improvers.
The arena will be filled with inventions from a range of czech and foreign industrial companies. Třinecké železárny will be among them, which will present its patent on rail heat treatment technology, which will put into operation this year. "The essence of the invention is a system of diffusers designed to cool the rails at relatively low temperatures, thanks to which we achieve the required hardness values, especially in the head of the rail (top) and in selected points of the cross section," said Jiří Adamík, one of the co-authors of the invention.
The company Enviform applied with its invention of a fiber optic sensor system for weighing railway vehicles. The sensor system allows counting of axles, specifying of the weight of the rolling stock, monitoring of the speed of its movement and specifying the deformations of the wheels of the railway cars. It is based on the simple possibility of installation on the rail body, high sensitivity, resistance to electromagnetic interference and the possibility of integration into a standard optical network.
Another of the inventions concerns the connection of tram tracks with natural lawns by the unique Brens system with the upper part of the rail track made of synthetic recycled STERED. The surface consists of artificial turf and a vegetation carpet. The track absorber contains only recycled materials, namely synthetic textile and rubber. In addition to dampening noise and vibrations, the synthetic material retains rainwater, which the planted vegetation uses for its growth. It is able to retain up to 80 liters of rainwater per square meter, reducing the surface temperature by 15 to 20 °C. This is a Slovak patent, which is produced in Myjava.
Accompanying program
In addition to inventions, Invent Arena visitors can enjoy a rich accompanying program, panel discussions with experts and interactive entertainment. "They will see, for example, the new hydrogen Tatra, a training car for the Dakar Rally racers with the opportunity to ride in it. Demonstrations of the work of the integrated rescue center and individual units will take place in front of the arena during the exhibition," explains Jiří Cupek, one of the organizers.
But there will also be a scientific popularization program of VŠB-TU Ostrava, the Secondary Technical School of Třinecké železáren, the Čočkostroj exhibition of the National Technical Museum and much more.
