In June 2022, as part of a voluntary agreement, Třinecké železárny and the Moravian-Silesian Region again committed themselves to activities that will lead to less environmental impact. Both entities fulfilled their obligations for the year 2023, according to the retrospective evaluation.

The company plans to reduce emissions by 55% by 2030. Investments in green projects are estimated at more than $1.7 billion. The Czech government has promised to support the efforts of Třinecké Železárny to switch to an environmentally friendly production method, which will help improve its competitiveness. The parties plan to sign a memorandum of understanding soon.
